Shi Xing
Ying is a 32nd generation warrior monk from the
Song Shan Shaolin Temple in Henan, China. Shifu
(chinese for master) entered the temple at the age of 6, became a master at age 12, and was on tour throughout his
teenage years. Shi Xing Ying was asked to share
Shaolin Wushu with America and is one of only a
handful of Shaolin monks who
now reside and teach here on behalf of the
Shaolin Temple. Shifu is well known as "The Monkey King" and is
called this due to his incredible ability.
Shi Yong Fei (Zhang Xue Fei) is a 33rd generation warrior monk from the Shaolin Temple. Shi Yong Fei entered the temple at the age of 7 where he trained throughout his teenage years. In 2002 Shifu Danny was awarded the title of Champion at the Henan Open Shaolin Traditional Competition. He is versed in both contemporary wushu and traditional wushu, and is best known for his lightning fast double chain whip skill.
Shi
Yong Ji (Scott Pettengill) is the Chief Instructor at ISWC and
is referred to
as Laoshi, which is chinese for instructor. He operates the Austin
location under the strict guidance of Shi Xing Ying. Shi Yong Ji has
been a disciple of Shifu for 9 years. An avid martial artist his whole life, he
has also studied numerous other styles, earning black belts from various
karate and kung fu schools. Still an active
competitor,
Scott has numerous gold medals from tournaments such as The Taiji
Legacy.
